RHL Profiles Limited is promoted by Mr. Rajendra Kumar Somani and Mr. Krishan Kumar Somani, who are the descendants of a Marwari family popularly known as the ‘Dhuliawalas’, originating from Didwana (Rajasthan) and having their roots way back since 1664. During the last four centuries, the family expanded and the members of the family branched themselves out to different parts of the country into various businesses.

The group has had an interest in the steel and metals trade since 1905. Mr. Hari Kishan Somani, father of Mr. Rajendra Kumar Somani started a foundry and machinery workshop in the city of Kanpur and was engaged in the manufacture of engineering and machinery parts for the Cotton, Textile, Sugar and other Engineering industries of the region.

 

TMT Technology

RHL GOLD TMT bars are produced using the latest German technology and quenching process in a ‘State-of-the-Art’ automatic rolling mill where TMT bars are hot rolled from tested raw material of required chemical specification in a series of electronically controlled finishing stands and online PLC controlled thermo mechanical treatment in 3 successive stages as under:

  1. QUENCHING :

The hot rolled bar coming out of the finishing rolling mill stand is passed through a quenching box where it is rapidly quenched using high pressure special water spray system. The surface of the bar gets hardened to the depth optimized for each section through formation of Martensitic rim while the core remains hot and Austenitic by this process in the quenching box.

  1. SELF TEMPERING :

The bar coming out of the quenching box thus has a hot core compared to the surface which is cooler compared to the core allowing the heat to flow from the core to the surface causing tempering of the outer martensitic layer of the bar into a structure called “Tempered Martensitic” The core still remains austenitic at this stage of the process.

  1. ATMOSPHERIC COOLING :

The bar is then finished on a ‘State-of-the-Art’ Automatic rake type Cooling Bed where atmospheric cooling of each bar takes place resulting in the transformation of the hot Austenitic core of the bar into a Ferrite Pearlite structure. The resultant final structure of the Bar produced consists of a hard and strong outer layer (Tempered Martensitic) with a soft and ductile inner core (Ferrite Pearlite) structure. RHL Gold TMT bars so produced has unique combination of high strength and ductility.

Quality Control

Quality is a culture of an organization and RHL since its inception has stressed on producing quality goods. It is the oldest ISI licensee of this region and the procedure for Quality Control is being practiced by the company since the very beginning.

Quality Control at RHL begins right from selecting the right vendor, grading the vendor based on its performance, stringent physical and chemical testing for the right quality raw material used for the manufacture of long products. The tested raw material selected by the Quality personnel are heated to the required temperature before being rolled in a state of art automatic rolling mill and thereafter cooled under atmospheric conditions to achieve optimum properties of steel. Various Quality check points during the rolling process and post rolling inspection ensures zero rolling defect and such defective rolled product is rejected at that stage.

A very comprehensive and proven quality control checks which have become a culture of the organization exist to ensure that the customer gets the best possible quality and product.

SPECIAL SIZE TMT BARS

The last decade has witnessed the entry and exit of many TMT brands in the market. These TMT Bars attract the customers only with their extremely low market price. Most of these TMT bars have total disregard for quality parameters like Yield Strength, Elongation, Sulphur and Phosphorus % etc. of TMT bars and harmful effects that can be caused to construction by it’s use.

TMT bars are extremely critical elements of civil construction as it forms the basic structure and foundation of any Building construction and should be differentiated by these important parameters.

All the above parameters can only be attained by use of TMT bars produced in rolling mill which possess the Right Technology, the Right manufacturing Equipment and most importantly the Right Quality Culture from the stage of vendor identification of raw material to online / offline Quality Control systems backed by Customer Service whenever required.

Process treatment of each and every bar separately by right Quenching technology and Cooling on Variable Rake type automatic Cooling bed. We have a modern ‘State of Art’ rolling mill comprising of PLC Controlled Electronic equipment, Continuous D.C. Finishing Mill, High Speed Shears, Automatic Reheating Furnace, Variable speed rake type Automatic Cooling Bed, Water Cooling Tower, CNC Notch Cutting Machine etc. and other electronic equipments at par with International norms and standards.

We have recently introduced new generation high ductile TMT bars under the brand name RHL GOLD 500 HD special size of diameters of 7mm, 9mm, 11mm, 14mm, 18mm and 22mm which can replace the substandard TMT Bars of 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 16mm, 20mm and 25mm. A Comparative chart indicates the advantage in use of RHL GOLD Special Size TMT Bars over ordinary TMT bars by withstanding similar load and reduction in steel consumption because of approx. 20% excess length as given below :
